Warhammer Tone Pro Ultramar Blue 1 is the darkest shade within the five-part Ultramar Blue color range. This deep, saturated blue tone is ideal for shadows, dark base colors, and building up classic blue gradients on armor, fabrics, vehicles, and other prominent surfaces.
Darkest shade of the Ultramar Blue range
Warhammer Tone Pro works with color ranges of five progressive shades. Ultramar Blue 1 forms the darkest starting point and is intended for the deepest shadow areas within a powerful blue gradient.
Continue working with Ultramar Blue 2 through 5 to build up increasingly lighter midtones and highlights without having to mix multiple intermediate colors yourself.
Ideal for armor and classic blue color schemes
The very dark ultramarine blue color works excellently for armor plates, uniforms, cloaks, and vehicles. Ultramar Blue 1 is also highly useful for weapon casings, technical details, shields, and other large blue surfaces.
As a dark base, this shade provides enough depth to make the brighter colors from the rest of the range stand out strongly.
Versatile Tone Pro formula
Ultramar Blue 1 is suitable for basecoating, shading, and layering. Diluted, the paint can also be used for glazing and deepening shadow areas without harsh transitions.
As a dark underlayer for subsequent highlights, this shade also offers a strong foundation on armor, vehicles, and texture-rich surfaces.
Use
Shake the paint well before use. Apply Ultramar Blue 1 as a dark base color or place the shade specifically in recesses and deep shadows. Then work with Ultramar Blue 2, 3, 4, and 5 toward increasingly lighter blue volumes and highlights.
