Warhammer Tone Pro Carmine Blades 4 is a lighter burgundy shade within the five-part Carmine Blades color series. This color is ideal for building initial highlights on dark red armor, cloaks, fabrics, and heraldry.
Lighter shade of the Carmine Blades series
Warhammer Tone Pro works with color series of five ascending shades. Carmine Blades 4 forms the first distinct highlight above the central Carmine Blades 3 midtone.
Use Carmine Blades 1 and 2 for the deep shadows, Carmine Blades 3 as the central base color, and then work with Carmine Blades 4 and the lighter Carmine Blades 5 toward the highest parts and sharpest edges.
Ideal for dark red highlights
The lighter burgundy color works excellently for power armor, shields, cloaks, tabards, and banners. By applying Carmine Blades 4 specifically to raised areas, dark red gains more contrast without transitioning directly into a bright red shade.
The color is also well-suited for heraldry and other warm red details.
Versatile Tone Pro formula
Warhammer Tone Pro paints are developed for different painting techniques within the same color series. Carmine Blades 4 is suitable for layering and highlighting, but can also be used thinned for glazing and soft color transitions.
Additionally, the paint can be used for drybrushing when you want to quickly add lighter red accents to larger textured surfaces.
Usage
Shake the paint well before use. Apply Carmine Blades 4 in thin layers on raised areas above Carmine Blades 3. Use this shade for broader highlights and then work with Carmine Blades 5 on the sharpest edges and most prominent details.
