For dark layers and controlled highlights

As a Layer paint, Warpfiend Grey is designed to be painted over a base colour or previous layer. The paint builds up well in thin coats, allowing you to add more form and definition to dark surfaces without losing the shadows. Use it, for example, on cloaks, robes, skin, armour panels, scales, monsters, and magical details.

Strong for Chaos, horror, and cool colour schemes

Warpfiend Grey works excellently with Chaos miniatures, Slaanesh themes, undead, demons, cultists, monsters, and models with a dark or unsettling appearance. This shade is also very useful for alien skin, pale fantasy creatures, dark fabrics, and cool shaded areas.

Combines well with other purple and grey tones

This colour works well as an intermediate step over dark purple, grey, or blackish base colours. For lighter highlights, you can combine it with Slaanesh Grey or other pale grey-purple tones. Thin the paint slightly and work with multiple thin layers for a smooth, matte result where the details of your miniature remain clearly visible.
