Citadel Layer: Sons of Horus Green is a muted blue-green paint ideal for highlights, layered armour colours, and subtle sci-fi colour schemes. The shade has a cool, weathered appearance and works particularly well for Sons of Horus armour, teal accents, military equipment, and dark futuristic models.
For controlled layers and soft highlights
As a Layer paint, Sons of Horus Green is designed to be painted over a base colour or previous layer. The paint builds up well in thin layers, allowing you to give blue-green surfaces more definition without the result becoming too bright. For example, use it on power armour, vehicles, weapons, cloaks, scales, uniforms, and technical details.
Strong for Horus Heresy and weathered armour
Sons of Horus Green is an excellent choice for Horus Heresy armies, especially if you want to build up a cool, historical Legiones Astartes look. The colour also works well for stealth units, industrial sci-fi schemes, alien skin, weathered armour, and subtle turquoise details.
Beautiful to combine with other blue-green shades
This colour works well as a highlight over darker teal and blue-green base colours and can be further brightened with lighter shades like Sybarite Green or Gauss Blaster Green for sharper accents. Thin the paint slightly and work with multiple thin layers for a clean, matte result where sculpted details remain beautifully visible.
