Citadel Layer: Castellax Bronze is a dark, cool bronze metallic paint ideal for layered metallic accents, subtle highlights, and weathered machinery or armor details. The color has an understated bronze look and works excellently when you want metal to appear less golden and more industrial, aged, or mechanical.
For dark metallic layers and controlled highlights
As a Layer paint, Castellax Bronze is designed to be painted in a controlled manner over a base color or previous metallic layer. The paint builds up well in thin layers, allowing you to give bronze surfaces more definition without obscuring details. Use it on armor plates, weapons, gears, pipes, trim, chains, and mechanical parts.
Strong for machines, relics, and weathered bronze
Castellax Bronze pairs excellently with Adeptus Mechanicus, Chaos machines, Necrons, Ork vehicles, steampunk parts, ancient relics, and industrial terrain pieces. With a dark wash, the color quickly gets an oily, weathered effect; with targeted highlights, you can create a sharper, polished bronze finish.
Combines well with other metallics
This color works well as a dark bronze layer under lighter metallics such as Brass Scorpion, Skullcrusher Brass, or Sycorax Bronze. For extra wear and tear, you can further lighten small edges with a silvery metallic. Thin the paint lightly and work with multiple thin layers for a neat metallic finish where sculpt details remain sharply visible.
