In The Great Crusade, the Church of the Tharameni, with a hundred of its finest warriors, ventures into the burning deserts of Sudd Tohst. For a year, whispers of a growing evil in the sands have circulated, but every previous church expedition has vanished without a trace. Now, only one desperate attempt remains: a great crusade to find the source of this threat and destroy it forever.

But Sudd Tohst is a merciless land. The heat, the emptiness, and the unknown make the journey deadly even before the true enemy reveals itself.

A 5E campaign of desert survival and divine war

This 5E campaign forms Divine Gambit Pt I and is designed for characters of levels 3 to 5. The Great Crusade is ideal for groups who enjoy religious fantasy, lost expeditions, survival in hostile terrain, and slowly uncovering an evil larger than the church first dared to believe.

The heroes accompany an impressive military and religious expedition, but as soon as the journey truly begins, it becomes clear why previous groups never returned. For players, this means an adventure where trust, faith, and the will to survive are constantly tested.

Sudd Tohst: a cruel and godless land

The deserts of Sudd Tohst form the heart of this campaign. The region feels empty, hostile, and dangerous, but beneath the sand lie ancient secrets, fallen warriors, and forces that even the Tharameni do not fully comprehend.

For Dungeon Masters, The Great Crusade offers a strong mix of travel adventure, tension, and combat. The party can become part of a larger expedition, but at the same time, they are given ample room to make important choices when the crusade begins to falter under the pressure of heat, fear, and enemy threat.

New option: Church of the Tharameni Guild Talent Tree

In addition to the main adventure, this campaign includes a new Guild Talent Tree for the Church of the Tharameni. This allows characters to more strongly connect with Tharador's unified pantheon and earn blessings that help them and their allies during dangerous adventures.

This talent tree is perfect for clerics, paladins, pious warriors, and other characters who want to use their faith not just as a background, but as a tangible part of their growth within the campaign.

This 5E campaign includes a 104-page campaign PDF for characters of levels 3–5. The adventure is designed for approximately 3 to 6+ play sessions, depending on play style, group size, and how much room the Dungeon Master allows for role-play, exploration, and side quests.

Additionally, the campaign includes extra game material such as an A2 printable regional map of the kingdom of Sudd Tohst, 6 original battlemaps in A1-A3 format, 16 original statblocks for levels 3–5 gameplay, 21 magic items, and 3 premade character sheets with backstories.
