In Gangs of Grimgate, the heroes find themselves in the heart of the underworld of Tharador’s largest city. The streets of Grimgate are on edge: two powerful criminal factions are preparing for a gang war, while the understaffed and underequipped Grimgate Order Force attempts to prevent the city from drowning in blood and chaos.

But justice is rarely simple when gold is on the table. While the law enforcement officers need the party’s help, the heroes also receive an offer from the criminal underworld. Will they remain loyal to the law, choose power and wealth, or play both sides against each other?

An urban 5E campaign full of crime and intrigue

This 5E campaign is designed for characters of level 5 to 6 and offers enough material for approximately 3 to 6+ play sessions. Gangs of Grimgate is ideal for groups who enjoy urban fantasy, gang wars, moral choices, corruption, and dangerous deals in dark alleys.

The atmosphere revolves around the tension between law and crime. The party can investigate rival gangs, negotiate with dubious figures, infiltrate hideouts, and fight in the tough streets of Grimgate. This is an adventure where not only combat prowess matters, but also loyalty, reputation, and the question of how much one’s principles are worth.

Grimgate: order versus gold

Grimgate is a city where power comes not only from palaces and barracks, but also from backrooms, hidden taverns, and criminal networks. The Grimgate Order Force represents the law but is severely understaffed and needs help from outsiders who can move where official agents are too visible.

For Dungeon Masters, this campaign offers plenty of room for choices and consequences. The heroes can forge alliances within the Order Force, be tempted by the gangs, or try to end the war in their own way. As a result, Gangs of Grimgate feels very much like an interactive crime campaign where players truly influence the city’s balance of power.

New option: Grimgate Order Force Guild Talent Tree

In addition to the main adventure, Gangs of Grimgate includes a new Guild Talent Tree for the Grimgate Order Force. This allows characters to develop as elite agents of justice in Tharador's largest city.

This talent tree is perfect for characters who want to see through lies, track down criminals, and become physically and mentally tougher through the violence of the streets. A strong addition for groups who want to give their campaign extra progression, specialization, and faction identity.

Contents of the set

This 5E campaign contains a 120-page campaign PDF for characters of level 5–6. The adventure is designed for approximately 3 to 6+ play sessions, depending on play style, group size, and how much room the Dungeon Master gives to investigation, roleplay, faction choices, and side quests.

In addition, the campaign includes extra game material such as an A2-printable regional map of the kingdom of Baldur, 7 original battlemaps in A1-A3 size, 15 original statblocks for level 5–6 gameplay, 21 magic items, and 3 premade character sheets with backstories.
