In Bastion of the Wandering Mage, rumors circulate about a mysterious castle that suddenly appears on the outskirts of cities across Tharador. Adventurers, treasure hunters, and reckless heroes venture inside hoping to find riches and magical secrets. Only a few return, and those who do usually remain silent about what transpired within its walls.

For the party, the choice is simple: enter the Bastion and discover what lies hidden, or watch as others try their luck. But in this castle, every room is a risk, and its inhabitants won't let their home be plundered easily.

Three low-level 5E modules in one campaign

This 5E campaign includes 3 separate campaign modules for characters from level 1 to 6. Each module can be played individually as a short adventure of approximately 2+ sessions, but Dungeon Masters can also combine them into one continuous campaign where players are drawn deeper into the mystery of the Wandering Mage’s Bastion.

This makes Bastion of the Wandering Mage incredibly flexible. You can use it as a starting point for a new group, as a series of short adventures between larger campaigns, or as a complete low-level arc where the party grows from novice adventurers to hardened survivors.

A magical castle full of danger and reward

The Bastion is more than a simple dungeon. It is a wandering, ominous castle full of secrets, strange inhabitants, magical discoveries, and dangerous encounters. The setting lends itself perfectly to classic dungeon exploration with a strong fantasy feel: doors that should have remained closed, treasures with a price, rooms full of arcane riddles, and enemies fiercely defending their domain.

For Dungeon Masters, the campaign offers a clear structure, but also enough room to build tension. The Bastion can appear wherever the story requires it, making it easy to incorporate into almost any existing 5E campaign.

New player option: Lore Keeper Wizard

In addition to the main adventure, Bastion of the Wandering Mage includes the new Lore Keeper Wizard subclass. This wizard focuses on unraveling, adapting, and mastering magic in a highly refined way.

The Lore Keeper is perfect for players who want to play an arcane specialist who enhances spells, changes their nature, and can even use enemies' magic against them. A strong thematic choice for a campaign centered around a mysterious mage, hidden knowledge, and a castle full of arcane secrets.

Contents of the set

This 5E campaign includes a 146-page campaign PDF with 3 modules for levels 1–6. Each module is designed for approximately 2+ play sessions, or can be combined into one full campaign within the same level range.

Additionally, the campaign includes extra game material such as an A2 printable map of the continent Tharador, 3 original battlemaps of the Bastion in A0 format, 23 original statblocks, 21 magic items, and 12 premade character sheets with backstories, spread across the three modules.
